Apple – What a difference a day makes…

< ![CDATA[The initial posturing was exactly as you would expect any company that released a bleeding edge product, front loading the price of that product to ensure that it pays off and then offering a major price cut as new products are announced. Apple followed the normal path until a day later than the announcement – after a lot of pressure from the blogosphere and others – Apple has backtracked and offered consolation vouchers for part of the price cut to those who bought the iPhone.

“We want to do the right thing for our valued iPhone customers. We apologise for disappointing some of you, and we are doing our best to live up to your high expectations,” Mr Jobs said
.

This is unprecedented and is just the sort of thing to grab a lot of attention, positive attention. This is what makes Apple very different from all the other companies in this space. You can only smile and watch the other companies in this business wince at not only an extremely competitive older product and very competitive new products, but also a company that can be very swift at reacting positively to bad press.

Look out world, Apple is here.]]>
